HappyWife 1.0 for MacOS X README

What is it?

HappyWife was written as a birthday present for my wife, Jennifer. It sits quietly in the Dock, and once in a while, will pop up with a declaration of my love for Jennifer. You can enter an unlimited number of declarations, and they will be presented one at a time. Of course, since it's unlikely that you and your spouse are named Karl and Jennifer, HappyWife is customizable - the question, the answer and the button text can all be changed.

How do I install (or uninstall)?

Double-click the HappyWife disk image file. Once the disk image launches, open it, and you will see the HappyWife application, and a HappyWife.html (this document). Drag HappyWife to your harddrive to install and double-click to run it. To remove HappyWife, simply drag HappyWife to the trash. If you wish, you can delete the preferences file in "~/Library/Preferences/com.the-ameoba.HappyWife.plist", and the data directory in ~/Library/HappyWife.

How do I use it?

Run HappyWife, and open the preferences. You should customize the text as appropriate, and choose how often HappyWife should declare your love. Last, but certainly not least, you should enter in as many declarations of love as you can think of. Don't forget to click "Save Changes"!

In the advanced preferences tab, you have the option of making HappyWife run without a Dock Icon or Menubar. This can only be done if you have write access to HappyWife.app itself. Note that when this happens, a "Prefs" button will be added to the declaration popup; otherwise you won't be able to configure or quit HappyWife.

Requirements

Suggestions are welcome. HappyWife is donation-ware - I'm not charging for it, but if you like it, I wouldn't mind a few extra bucks :)
